Burkitt lymphoma evaluated by PET/CT Authors: Castaño M, Motta R, Gelman S, Rubio V, Soroa Abstract: Burkitt lymphoma is a low frequency malignant
neoplasm of the hematopoietic system with an aggressive
biological behavior. There are three distinct
clinical variants: endemic, sporadic and associated
with immunodeficiency. A case of Burkitt lymphoma
with compromised soft tissue and associated to
HIV is presented and evaluated by positron emission
computed tomography (PET-CT) study of high
sensitivity to detect lesions characterized by cellular
hypermetabolism, as in this pathology. Key words: PET-CT
Non Hodgkin lymphoma
