Authors: Tartas N.E. Abstract: Primary mediastinal lymphoma is a diffuse large B
cell lymhoma arising in the mediastinum from a thymic
B-cell origin. It occurs in young adults mainly women
and still does not have a therapeutic standard. Treatment
with R-CHOP has improved its prognosis and has
diminished the incidence of primary refractory disease.
Although radiotherapy has been widely employed, currently
its routine use in residual masses is controversial.
PET/CT scans might be useful, in order to select patients
who would benefit with this approach. Key words: Lymphoma, mediastinum, R-CHOP, radiotherapy. Pages : 166-169 |
